  • OVER 90,000 RESIDENTS ACCESS CLEAN RELIABLE WATER as a result of the County Government- World Bank funded Likoni Water Network System Replacement Project.
  • CONSTRUCTED AND EXPANDED WATER PIPELINE AND SIX WATER KIOSKS in Likoni (Kinduguni-Mrima primary) which increased water access to 1,200 households.
  • LAUNCHED THE SCHOOLS WATER SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WASH) Project to oversee construction of toilet blocks, hand washes facilities and provision of water in all the 94 PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTY targeting to ensure disease free learning zones for 70,000 students. So far, 15 SCHOOLS have been completed in the first phase.
  • 800 HOUSEHOLDS now access clean and fresh water from the Bokole Water Supply Project- a partnership between the Water Services Trust Fund and Mombasa County Government that laid 2.8 km pipeline laid and 4 yard taps.
  • ISSUED 494 WATER KIOSK OPERATING LICENSING to youth groups, women groups and PWDs and subsidized costs of vended water from over Ksh.20 per 20 litre jerican to Ksh.2. This provided extra income for poor families and at the same time offered enterprise opportunities to young people.

  • INSTALLED LARGE CAPACITY 15 PLASTIC TANKS at all sub counties and directly supplied water by the County Government in times of water scarcity and during regular water systems repairs.
  • ONGOING CONSTRUCTION OF SH16 BILLION MWACHE DAM that will supply residents with 180,000 cubic meters of water dailya s a Public Private Partnership with the World Bank Water Purchase Agreement Scheme
  • Rehabilitated sewer and Kipevu waste water treatment plant into an efficient system reducing incidences of blockages
  • INSTALLED 30 WATER SUPPLY CONTROL VALVES IN LIKONI which has helped in curbing vandalism and unauthorized water interference.
  • ONGOING CONSTRUCTION OF OF 22 BOREHOLES across the six subcounties to provide increased access to clean water and supplement inadequate supplies at Sh60million.
